Don has served in a number of capacities since his Father and Grandfather brought him into the Rotary Club of Arlington in 1974 and he has sponsored 29 members to his club.
Following Club, District, Zone offices, he was honored to be elected to serve as a member of the Rotary International Board of Directors for the term 2006-08.
He has completed terms as the Chair of the Council on Legislation Review, an ad hoc committee for RI, a member of the RI Operations Review Committee and as Endowment/Major Gift Adviser for Zone 21b.
Currently, he and Carolyn are absolutely delighted to have served as the aides to 2017-18 RI President Ian and Juliet Riseley.
Carolyn and Don are both Major Donors to the Rotary Foundation, members of the Bequest Society, and Paul Harris Fellow Sustaining Members and members of the Arch Klumph Society.
Don has received the Service above Self Award as a result of his participation in a clean water project in the State of Gracias a Dios, Honduras.
He continues to travel and support the project there under direction of project manager, Rotarian Scott Hendricks.
Don is also involved in an international relief committee, Nepal Earthquake Relief Initiative.
He has traveled there twice to visit stricken sites and review reconstruction activities, finances and government regulations.
He and Carolyn also participated in a Nepal NID several years ago.
Outside of Rotary, he and Carolyn, are retired from ownership of Business Insurance Technologies, stay busy with managing some commercial property and their hobby is a vineyard just outside of Memphis, Texas.
They will be celebrating their 53rd wedding anniversary in August of 2019. They have one married daughter, Pat Hoffman and she has a son and daughter.
